The O Insight Guide Spain: BARCELONA
An Inside Tip for Foodies
Barcelona is full of wonderful places where you can enjoy good gastronomy. However, being a city with such a big tourist attraction, I always like to run away from the masses and enjoy a different Barcelona, which to he surprise of many, is a lover of slow-life and tranquillity.
Every Saturday morning and every time I receive visitors, I love to start the day eating a “Tortilla de Patatas” (Potato Omelet) and a coffee with milk in “Mantequerías Pirenaicas” (C/Muntaner 460), a small bar for locals, which I personally believe make the best tortillas in the whole city.
Mention some vibrant activities to live the city
As an athlete, I’m always available for any plan that involves physical exercise. One of my favourite plans is to wake up early and start the day off by going for a jog on “Carretera de Les Aigúes”. It’s easy to walk through, unpaved terrain, that offers over ten kilometres of magnificent views of Barcelona.
After the exercise, the is nothing better than enjoying a good tapas route. During the month of May, Barcelona celebrates the “Hotel Tapa Tour”, where many of the most emblematic hotels in Barcelona open their doors and, with the help of the most renown chefs and bartenders, create gastronomic proposals in the form of tapas an at a special price for all budgets.
